Eurydice

Eurydice was by far my favorite set that Cameron has worked on and my favorite of the plays I've seen at the Grand. It's a modern interpretation of the Greek myth of Eurydice and Orpheus, told from Eurydice's perspective as she descends into the underworld after she dies. This NY Times review gives a lovely synopsis of the play, if you're interested. I was beyond impressed and proud that this little local production managed to nail the details and the mood of the play in its set and costume design. The dilapidated pool and raining elevator of the underworld (Cameron's handiwork, of course!), the vintage swimsuits of the chorus of the stones, and Eurydice's pink party dress made the play so beautiful and haunting. To think of the Grand's limited budget and typical audience - senior citizens looking for a benign musical comedy - this feat continues to blow me away!
