2012.

Hands down, the best New Years Eve I've ever experienced. We spent a few days in a cabin at Doe Bay on Orcas Island. The last day of 2011, we had an elaborate pancake brunch, relaxed and reflected on the years old and new, made resolutions, went for a hike and watched the sun set at Obstruction Pass State Park. Back at Doe Bay, we did the partner yoga poses from the Jan/Feb issue of Whole Living, soaked in the hot tubs at dusk, and went to a party at the resort's yoga studio to dance into the new year. I feel both a calm and an electricity about 2012. I've never entered a year with so much hope and intention.

On New Years Day, back at home in our little apartment, I shared these horoscopes with Cameron that I came across thanks to Anabela of Fieldguided. I'm not a regular astrology reader or believer, but I was blown away by how closely these descriptions match our differing personalities and aspirations.



Me, Aries (excerpted):

In addition to the resolutions we both have for 2012, I'd like to revisit these horoscopes and use them to boost our confidence that 2012 will be our best year yet, building upon the positive changes we made in 2011 and continuing to present opportunities to progress away from some of its hardships. It's nice to know that "the universe" has rewards in store for us!
