On a whim, I took the day off work and decided to spend it at one of my favorite places on the planet, the Cliff Spa. Cameron was able to join me and we spent the entire day at the rooftop pool, swimming, lounging, soaking in the jacuzzi, and reading poolside. I spent hours simply floating on my back in the water. We'd alternate pool-time with long sessions in the eucalyptus steam room followed by cups of jasmine and mint tea in the relaxation room (where people wait for their spa treatments - and we just use in our poser spa robes for a tea room, reading room, and to enjoy the ridiculous panoramas of the mountains). The leaves are just beginning to change so there were perfect little pops of red and yellow trees. We had lunch on the patio at El Chanate (tofu tacos!). The best part? To be able to treat ourselves to this just because. Because I needed something relaxing. Because I'm a fish and craved the water. Because it's only 20 minutes away. Because summer is ending/over.

As we were leaving we stumbled upon this mama and baby moose right by the parking lot (you can see how close they are to the cars). It was magical to peek in on the peacefulness of their day. We drove home in early evening, ate dinner, and I fell asleep watching Coco Before Chanel.
See what I mean? Perfect.
