on the road

There's something so charming about middle-of-nowhere desert roads and white fluffy western clouds. This collection is from a trip Cameron and I took to Goblin Valley in late August. We ended up spending much more time on the road than was necessary, since we somehow overlooked that the park is isolated by 30 miles in either direction and found ourselves on a nearly empty tank of gas as we arrived. This is despite having stopped in Green River (aka Robbers' Roost HQ, aka the last hint of services before traveling the next 30 miles to Goblin Valley) just to, you know, stretch our legs and buy some beverages at the gas station without checking on the tank of gas. This all turned out for the best as we got to take a little side excursion to Hanksville the next morning (est. population: 203!) and fill up at the famed hole-in-the-rock gas station. More on that to come.
