In addition to my family party the night before (replete with helium balloons, cupcakes with sprinkles, board games, and Mexican food), I spent my birthday with Cameron: brunch at Blue Plate Diner; a full day of relaxation, floating, swimming, and soaking at The Cliff Spa at Snowbird Ski Resort, where we fell in love with the eucalyptus steam room and the panoramic rooftop mountain scenery; and a dinner of three-cheese pizza at Salt Lake Pizza & Pasta (mozzarella, fontina, gorgonzola). All the details were handpicked by me, including my birthday dress, a thrifted gift from myself, to myself. The vibe was calming, the companionship flawless, and the food divine. Here's to hoping he enjoys his bday coming up this week as much as I did mine.
p.s. We postponed an intended adventure kayaking on the Great Salt Lake for the warmer months ahead; as you can see, Salt Lake in early April is still in a state of mild to moderate winter, and since we do not yet own our own kayaks, we're reliant on the seasonal shifts of rental shops. I cannot wait for our little paddling trip to Egg Island!
